Music cheers up, gives energy, brings back memories, inspires, moves emotions and also helps plants to grow. What? Just like that! At BonBee we have to admit it, music is fantastic because it also influences the germination process of seeds.
How is this possible? The first thing we want to tell you is that plants have different breathing mouths known as "stomata".
The cells that form the stomata are responsible for generating a tuning that opens and closes this part of the plant responsible for receiving vibrations through the air. This means that, although plants do not have ears, they can detect different environmental sounds from the vibrations they receive through the leaves and stems. Incredible, isn't it?
Now you will understand if at some point you saw your grandmother humming songs while watering her plants. Surely she was convinced that, when she sang to them, her plants responded better than when she didn't sing.
Let the classical music play!
Some studies have shown that plants recognize classical music better because of the tranquility provided by its tones and vibrations.
Cleve Backster, a former U.S. CIA agent, decided one day to do an experiment to see how one of his plants reacted to different stimuli by means of a polygraph. For several weeks he watched the results as he watered it by playing different genres of music in the background. And the results were clear.
When loud and violent sounds were emitted, the plant showed negative electrical signals. On the other hand, when pleasant music was played, it emitted positive electrical signals. This means, once again, that living organisms react to the stimuli they receive on a daily basis.
This is why classical music has a special effect on plants, positively stimulating them from the germination of their seeds to the growth of their stems and leaves.
Do you want your plants to keep growing happily?
So stop playing them reggaeton or heavy metal and choose Mozart music instead! They will thank you for it and at BonBee we are sure you will notice the change over time. Just don't get excited by turning up the volume too much because you can also damage them.
