Roses forever!

Publication: Oct 22, 2019

Have you ever been given a bouquet of roses that you were sorry to throw away after a few days? That happens to us when we receive roses from people who are important to us. And even more so if it was a very special occasion.

Well, throwing away roses is over. In this post we will explain you how to keep forever a souvenir of that beautiful bouquet. And how do we do it? As easy as drying the roses. And there are two very simple methods to do it.

The first method we will carry out if what we want is to preserve the rose in its original form: with the stem and its leaves. First of all you have to know that the flowers end up rotting due to the water they contain. Therefore, we have to dry the roses before they reach that point. The ideal moment is before 5 days have passed since you received your flowers, because that way they will be the most faithful to their original fresh shape.

What we will do is to undo the bouquet and carefully remove the roses without breaking their leaves. To do this we will cut all the threads that hold the flowers together and we will open the bouquet in channel with the help of our hands. Once all the roses are separated, we will hang them upside down from the end of their stem. This can be done with tweezers or thread. The perfect place to do it is a dry place with little light.

After a few days your roses will be dry and will enjoy the gift of immortality.

The second method we will carry out if what we want is to conserve only the petals of our roses. To do this we will carefully pull off all the petals we want from the base of the flower bud, as this will not break the petal. In this method it is not necessary to disassemble the bouquet, but what is important is that the time of extraction is the same as in the first method: about 5 days after receiving the flowers.

Once we have all the petals, we will intstemuce them inside a porous paper book that we have (no school textbooks). What we will do is to place the petals between the different pages of the book. Do not worry that the petals do not dye if they are not broken. But just in case, use a book that is not too important for you.

After a few days your petals will be dry, flat and will enjoy the gift of immortality.

We hope you have found this post useful and say goodbye to throwing away a memory as beautiful as a rose.
