Change of season? The best time to take care of your plants

Publication: Oct 22, 2020

Has it ever happened to you that when there is a change of season your plants start to lose their flowers and the color of the leaves becomes as if they were about to wilt? Let us tell you that the moment when they feel confused by the weather begins, something that you can't avoid, but you can take advantage of!

<<Otoño… la última y más bella sonrisa del año>>. William Cullent Bryant

Autumn is the ideal time to pamper them and implement new care that will help them cope with the transition and the drop in temperatures. Do you want some practical tips? Here at BonBee we give them to you. Take note!

Before starting the process, it is necessary to clean them by cutting the dead branches so that they will grow back strong during the next months. A good pruning will bring the best benefits in the future. However, do it with delicacy and care!

1. Change in watering: just as the temperature is changing, you should also reduce the watering that you did during the summer. Although it may not seem like it, more plants die from excess water than from lack of water. In this case, we advise you to water them only when you feel that the soil is dry or that their leaves start to look sad.

Check the temperature: many of the plants you have in your outdoor garden will need a warmer climate to survive. To do this, put them indoors, in a space where they are comfortable and where there is no lack of light. You will see how, little by little, they will adapt to the new autumn environment.

3. Take advantage of indoor light: indoor gardens decorate your home and also generate health benefits. Now that we are in autumn you can make some lovely changes in the decoration and leave those spaces (with natural light) free to place your plants.

4. Time to transplant: October is an excellent month to give a break to the roots that need a bigger pot. Buy the optimal soil and nutrients for transplanting.

5. And last but not least! Give them a little bit of organic fertilizer. We are sure they will thank you for it.

In our flower shop we enjoy all the seasons of the year, but it is true that the colors of nature in autumn, we love them! We encourage you to give a new breath to your plants with the best care.

As Backseat Goodbye singer-songwriter ChadSugg says, "Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year."
